Summer in Qatar is genuinely hot, and the country is built for it: the metro, malls, museums and even the souq's covered lanes are air-conditioned. Visiting in summer means doing outdoor things at dawn and after dark and indoor things in the middle — and paying the lowest hotel rates of the year.

- Souq Waqif's covered lanes after 7 pm — the mud walls hold the cool.
- Hotel spas and pools; most hotels chill the pools in summer.
- The metro itself — a cool, cheap way to hop districts.
Summer deals
Five-star hotels drop to $120–180 a night and add breakfast; the Qatar Summer Festival brings mall events and hotel packages; flights are cheaper outside school holidays. For a layover-heavy trip or a family with young children who need pools anyway, summer is excellent value — just plan the day around the sun.
Ramadan and Eid in summer years
Ramadan moves earlier each year and will not fall in high summer again until the 2030s; in 2027 it is February–March. Eid al-Adha, however, lands in late May 2027 — a four-day holiday with fireworks at Katara and busy hotels. If your summer trip coincides, book tours and restaurants early and expect a festive, late-night city.
